What happens with our body during fasting?

Easter fasting has started, which means that it is time for physical and spiritual purification of the body. Fasting includes many fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains and legumes. If you have not yet fasted, consider this option, because in this way you are cleansing and rejuvenating your body. From time to time our body needs rest from fat-rich products.

However, during the fast it is important to keep an eye on the balanced intake of plant-based proteins and reduce the intake of carbohydrates.

Vitalia recommends:
Have breakfast with muesli and oatmeal in combination with fresh fruit and almond milk. In all meals, include high protein seeds: quinoa, buckwheat, millet and their flakes. Lunch should always be made from at least 3 different plants. This way you enter all the necessary nutrients for a dynamic day.

What do we achieve during fasting?
Weight loss
Caloric value of food of animal origin is dramatically higher than that of plants. With a few daily plant nutrition, positive changes in body mass are observed. This process of natural reduction of kilograms occurs because combining the plants in one meal, we give enough nutrients to the body by initiating the combustion of excess fat and sugars. Vitalia recommends the natural soups of tomato, broccoli and a mixture of vegetables for lightweight and fit fasting.
Reduce bad cholesterol
Increased cholesterol is a key risk factor for heart disease. Saturated fats – commonly found in meat, dairy products and eggs – directly increase bad cholesterol. For gourmets in this period we recommend soy pate with mushrooms, garlic, pepper and olives on a rice or corn cake.
Blood sugar regulation
Proper fasting involves the use of many types of plant foods in order to achieve a balanced and healthy way of body detox. After just 24 hours with plant-based food, there is a process of purification and regulation of sugars thanks to the rich dietary fiber intake. An excellent source of dietary fiber is snack bars, flax seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin, sunflower as well as integral crackers with a taste of chili, tomato, basil and olives.

Vitalia wishes you delicious, healthy and light fasting.
